Todd Blackmar graduated from Marine Corps Officer Candidate school in July 1991. Upon Graduation from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Todd was Commissioned a Second Lieutenant, an Officer of Marines, on 10 May 1992.
Blackmar’s first assignment was overseas on Okinawa, Japan with 9th Motor Transport Battalion from 1993-1996. Todd was the Battalion Adjutant for 9th Motors and later the 3d Support Battalion in the 3d Force Service Support Group. His duties included military justice, pay, promotion, and record keeping for an 800+ Marine Battalion. Blackmar excelled in Okinawa and was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal and assigned to the Funded Law Education Program as a result of his accomplishments.
While on active duty with the Marines from 1996-1999, Todd earned his Law Degree (Magna Cum Laude) passed the Ohio Bar Examination, and was promoted to the rank of Captain. Upon being certified to practice law, Todd was assigned to Marine Corps Base Hawaii to practice law for the Staff Judge Advocates Office (JAG) from 1999-2002. Within a year and a half, Todd was selected as the Chief Prosecutor of Service Members for Marine Corps Base Hawaii and was designated a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney (SAUSA) to prosecute civilians in Federal Court in Honolulu, HI.
In 2001, Todd became the lead defense Counsel on Marine Corps Base Hawaii. After excelling in this capacity, Todd was ordered in 2002 to the Washington Naval Yard to assume duties as Appellate Defense Counsel at the Navy and Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals.
In March of 2003, Todd retired from active service and entered the business world as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Haas-Jordan, which was a division of the F.J. Westcott Company. In May of 2014, Blackmar purchased Haas-Jordan from the F.J. Westcott Company under his Company, TMB Enterprises, LLC, an Ohio Limited Liability Company.
